Ha! I just went over some of my old draft posts, and found one that I was going to write about my first experience of GMing, which included this gem:
Story doesn’t “just happen”
I am pleased to say that I’ve now had plenty of first-hand evidence to overturn that statement :-)
Although it’s worth pointing out that it doesn’t just happen in the absence of anything to *make* it happen! You either need a GM who knows how to push for drama without forcing the story in a particular direction (which back then I didn’t), or you need game mechanics that do it for you. (Or a bit of both!)
